Baseball Recreational Divisions

PeeWee Pre K4 – K

The PeeWee Division is our introduction to baseball and designed for players who are currently in kindergarten or will be starting kindergarten the next fall.

  • 10 regular season games
  • Games on Thursdays and Saturdays
  • Players will primarily hit off of a Tee and will also be introduced to coach pitch
  • Games are 3 Innings and usually take 60-90 minutes

Rookies 1st and 2nd Grade

The Rookie Division is a semi competitive introduction to “real baseball” which features a combination of kid and coach pitch. It is intended for a wide range of abilities, including both experienced and first-time players.

  • 2 regular season games
  • Games on Mondays and Fridays
  • Pitching: Coach Pitch Innings 1,2,5 and Player Pitch Innings 3,4
  • A time limit is in effect. No new inning will begin after 1 hour 45 minutes

Minors 3rd - 4th grade

The Minors Division is a competitive league where scores/standings are kept and a champion is crowned on Championship Day.

  • 12 regular season games
  • Games on Tuesday or Thursday Evenings and Saturday Mornings
  • A portion of the schedule is played against our neighbors in Watchung and Warren
  • Pitching:  100% Player Pitch
  • A time limit is in effect. No new inning will begin after 1 hour 45 minutes

Majors 5th – 6th grade

The Major League Division is our final step towards “real baseball” that allows the players to continue to develop fundamentals in a competitive setting. Leading, Pickoffs, Infield Fly, and Drop 3rd strike rules are all introduced at this level. A Long Hill Champion is crowned for this division on Championship Day.

  • 12 regular season games
  • Games on Monday or Wednesday and Friday
  • Our teams play a regular season schedule with Warren and Watchung
  • Pitching: Player pitch
  • A time limit is in effect. No new inning will begin after 1 hour 45 minutes
